Free blackjack session tracker for iPhone and Android

Am I a winning player? Now you'll know.

Blackjack Logger is the private record a serious player keeps: results, hours, casinos and expenses, logged in ten seconds a session. It shows your results against expectation, where your edge is real and where variance is lying to you, and which casinos actually pay. The tax diary writes itself along the way.

What you get

The honest answer to "am I actually winning?"

Memory keeps the big nights. The log keeps all of them. Per-hour rate, win rate and result against expectation tell you whether you have an edge or a lucky month, and which games are paying it.

Your edge over time

Results against what your EV predicted, for 30 days, 90 days, the year or all time. Per hour, win rate, and result versus expectation.

Log a session in ten seconds

Result, casino, start time and hours. Add your hourly EV and a note if you have them. Casinos autocomplete from your history.

Casinos, ranked

Net, hours and dollars per hour for every place you play. Tap one for its own chart and sessions. Merge misspellings in a tap.

Trips and expenses

Group sessions and costs by trip. Hotel, flights, food, tips, with categories you can edit, so a weekend shows its true net.

Your fields, your log

Add custom fields to sessions and expenses: rules, penetration, dealer, who was with you, payment method. Track what you care about.

Tax-ready records

Export every session and expense as a CSV with date, time, location and amount, the fields the IRS diary rules name. JSON backups restore on a new phone.

A card for the group chat

One tap turns a session into an image: result, casino, hours, per hour and expected. Hide the casino if you like.

Private by design

Your log lives on your phone, protected by your phone's encryption and an optional Face ID or fingerprint lock. No account, no server, no analytics.

What gets measured

Every casino, every session, every trip, with the numbers that matter

Per-hour rate, win rate and result against expectation for each place you play. A ledger that totals by month. Trip reports that net the hotel and the flights against the tables.

Flex

Karma will probably get you in the end. But if you must flex, we've got you.

One tap turns a session into a card for the group chat: result, casino, date, hours, per-hour and what the EV said. Hide the casino if you would rather not say where you play.

  • Just an image. No link, no account, nothing for your friends to install.
  • Your numbers, your call. Share the big night, or the whole trip report.

How it works

From first session to a real picture of your game

  1. Log each session when you stand up

Result and hours are enough. Add EV and notes when you have them.

  2. Add expenses to the trip

Hotel, flight, food and tips go against the trip, so you see what the weekend really made.

  3. Watch the line

Stats shows your running result against expectation. Above the dashed line you are running good; below it, running bad. Either way you know.

  4. Export when you need it

CSV for your tax preparer or spreadsheet, JSON backup for a new phone, an image for your group chat.

And at tax time

The diary the IRS asks for, already written

Keep the log for your game and the tax record takes care of itself. The IRS wants four things for every session; the app captures them as you go.

  • Date and type of wager. Every session is dated and timed.
  • Name and location of the establishment. The casino field, with autocomplete.
  • Amount won or lost. The result, by session, netted the way casual gamblers report.
  • People present. The notes field, if you want it.

Frequently asked questions

What does Blackjack Logger track?

Each session's result, hours played, start time, casino, optional hourly EV and notes, plus expenses and trips. The Stats tab turns that into your net result over time, dollars per hour, win rate, a comparison against your expected value, a month-by-month chart and a ranking of casinos.

Is it free?

Yes. No subscription, no ads, no account and no in-app purchases.

Does my data leave my phone?

No. Everything lives on your phone. There is no cloud sync and no analytics. The only way data leaves the phone is when you choose to export a backup, a CSV or a share image.

Can I use it for my gambling records at tax time?

That is one of the main reasons people use it. The IRS asks for a contemporaneous diary with the date, type of wager, where you played and the amounts won or lost. A session log gives you exactly that, and the CSV export puts it in a spreadsheet for your preparer. See gambling log for taxes.

Can I add my own fields?

Yes. In Settings → Tracking you can add custom fields to the session form and to the expense form, for whatever you track: rules, penetration, dealer, table, who was with you, payment method. They show up on every new entry and in the CSV export. The expense category list is editable too.

Does it work for other games?

It is built around blackjack sessions, but a session is just a result, a time and a place, so people also log poker, video poker and table games. Expense tracking and trips work the same for any casino visit.

Is there an Android version?

Yes. Blackjack Logger is free on Google Play as well as the App Store.

Can I lock the app?

Yes. Turn on Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode in Settings. The app also hides its contents in the app switcher.
